It was another beautiful day at the lake, with spectators lining the dam in tents to watch and cheer.
The first event was the 5k, and RSA was led by Jessie Godlewski (6th), Tessa Pena (8th), Victoria Bell (9th), Mitch DeForest (8th), Michael Dickey (13th), Henry Roach (15th), and Matthew Newland (16th). The 5k is an hour-plus 4-loop race and our RSA athletes got us off to a great start!
Next up was the 3k for the 13-14 year-olds. RSA was led by Andrew Henry’s victory and buoyed with scoring swims from: Claire Nobles (6th), Kristin Connors (8th), Logan Harrison (5th) and Ben Mayes (11th). Both Meredith Rawls and Bailey Maloney finished seconds off the scoring charts with 17th-place finishes.
The 2k followed and RSA garnered its second victory with Hannah Moore’s triumph in the 11-12 age-group. Emma Williams (5th), Rachel Hatt (6th), Libby Pelt (10th), and Seth Maslowski (10th) all scored points for RSA.
Finally it was time for the 10&under 800 meter race. RSA was paced by Kate Moore’s 4th-place finish and Aaron Thompson’s 8th-place finish.
The relays are aggregates of a 10&under 800, 11-12 2k, 13-14 3k, and senior 5k. RSA’s relay of Jessie Godlewski, Claire Nobles, Hannah Moore, and Kate Moore snagged second-place. The guys relay of Michael Dickey, Andrew Henry, Seth Maslowski, and Aaron Thompson finished 3rd or 4th.
Other highlights from the race day included Sam Heeley’s successful 5k race and Michael Moore’s 25th-place swim as a 7 year-old.
Outstanding weekend – highly recommended next season for all!
