Looking for a Meet Director
RSA parents we are looking for a meet director
for the Reindeer Meet to be held later this
year at the Hillsborough Sports Complex Dec.
7-8. We need to get this meet director soon
or we will not be able to host this meet
for the kids. Any parents that are interested
please let me know as soon as possible.
Private Lessons If any one is interested and needs extra
help, Coach Brian is available for private
swim lessons. They are $25.00 a half hour.
I am in the water the entire time with the
swimmer. Sometimes this is helpful because
it is a one on one session, and some of these
strokes and flip turns can be difficult.
Contact Coach Brian by email or call the
RSA office at 859-4881.
Technique for the Week
Dolphins
We had a great week of practice preparation
for the WOW meet, but I noticed at the meet
we really need to work on those flip turns.
Remember every time you swim more than a
25, you need to do a flip turn. Practice
makes perfect. We also have to make sure
that when we finish in breaststroke we have
to touch with two hands!
Wahoos
I was really impressed with how you swam
Wahoos. There were some extremely fast races.
This week will try to get better on those
flip turns. Remember, when you are doing
a freestyle flip turn you have to to push
off on your back and then roll to your stomach,
and with backstroke you have to know that
stroke count.
Novas and Minnows
Great job this week everyone. For those of
you that went to the meet I was so impressed
how you swam. Our strokes are really looking
better. Novas, we will continue to work on
flip turns, and butterfly. These are tough
skills so keep it up. Remember to use your
hips in butterfly. Minnows, our breaststroke
is looking so much better. Most of you have
flat feet know so we are ready to move on
to the pull so get ready.
RSA GREAT JOB THIS WEEK! I was so impressed
how every single one of you swam in the meet.
We still have a lot to work on, but we just
started the season. See you all at practice.
