If you would like to go for another day and you were entered please let Coach Brian know through email. Email coach Brian by Jan. 2, 2003, if you will not be going to the meet at bgill@swimrsa.org. Volunteers for RE-Reindeer: Because of the reschedule for the Reindeer Meet, many of the volunteers that we had for the meet in Dec.cannot not do the same jobs. Margret Bell has decided to take the job as volunteer coordinator for this meet. Please contact her at rbell18@nc.rr.com. There will be a sign-up sheet in the Candler lobby for the jobs that are still available. Please sign-up to volunteer at the meet. WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP RSA PARENTS! Video Taping Video taping for the Minnow, Nova, Wahoo, and Dolphin practice groups will take place on Jan. 2 &3, 2003. This will be during the swimmers normal practice times. Parents we will need your help running the cameras, so please come to practice with your children ready to help out. I think this will be a great tool for the swimmers. Please make sure that you bring a regular VHS tape to practice labeled with your name on it. Try to get the VHS tape to me as soon as possible. It needs to be kept in a warm place so condensation does not build up on the tape. Sometimes you really do not know what you are doing wrong unless you see yourself doing it in the water! WINTER CLEANING: We have had the bubble up for several months now, and the pool deck is really starting to get dirty. We are in need of a parent or parents that has a power washer to come in and power wash the deck. If there are any parents that would be willing to do this please let me know what day and what time would be convienient. This is something we really need done soon. Technique for the Week I noticed in practice last week that we really need to continue to focus on starts, turns, and finishes. We must do turns on every single wall. If you are doing freestyle, do a freestyle turn, if you are doing backstroke do a backstroke turn, etc. The only way you will improve on turns is to do them every single time you come to a wall at practice. The more you repeat these the better you will get at them. This way you do not have to worry about them when you get to the meets. We are getting a little sloppy when it comes to starts, turns, and STREAMLINING! Lets try and work on this. HAPPY NEW YEAR! Coach Brian |
