10 & Under Newsletter for the Week of 2/17/03 by Brian Gill 2003-02-18 15:04:00 Minnow, Nova, Wahoo, and Dolphin
THIS Saturday Practice- Feb. 22nd w/ RSA-North @ Ravenscroft This Saturday, Feb. 22nd we will have practice with RSA-North @ Ravenscroft in North Raleigh. Minnows, Novas, Wahoos (9 AM-10 AM) and Dolphins are from (9 AM-10:30 AM) There are several reasons why I think this is important to attend. First of all we are a team. It is important to develop some type of team chemistry between us and our fellow teammate up at RSA-North. The only time we see them are at meet, and this is a good opportunity to get to know them better. The championship season is here, and many of us will swim in relays at B/C States, Tarheel States, and Age Group Champs. We will practice relay starts with our teammates from RSA-North since many of you will be on relays with them. This is really an important practice to make so please try to be at practice this Saturday. PLEASE let Coach Brian know by email at bgill@swimrsa.org if you will not be attending the meet or only going for one of the days. The next meet for BB + swimmers will be Tarheel States on March 28-30th. The scratch deadline for Tarheel States is Tuesday, March 11th. Please email Coach Brian if you will not be attending either of these meets or will only be going one or two of the sessions. Video Taping: A Success! The video taping session that we had set up for this past Thursday went great! Thank you parents for being patient with the rescheduling. I think this is something that can benefit every swimmer that was taped. Finally, thank you to Roman Kab for helping to provide the equipment to video tape, and his expertice in setting everything up. Also thank you to Rick Clarke for making us a stand to hold the underwater camera. This was a big plus for us to see underwater. (Especially on those turns) I hope that every swimmer learned something about their stroke from this experience. I thought this went so well, we will try to do it again sometime before the bubble goes down in the spring. Great job last week RSA! Keep coming to practice ready to listen and work hard.
