Tarheel States- THIS WEEKEND: March 28-30 Hillsborough Sportsplex This weekend marks the last meet of the short course season. This should be a great meet for all swimmers attending. I am looking forward to watching you all go out and compete. It is the last meet of the short course season so go out and race! Warm Ups Friday, Saturday, and Sunday March 28-30th 10 & Under- Warm Ups at 7:30 AM Meet starts timed finals @ 8:45 AM 11 & Over- Prelim Warm Ups @ 7:30 AM Meet starts prelims @ 8:45 AM 11 & Over Final Warm Ups @ 5:00 PM Meet starts finals @ 6:00 PM Sunday Finals are TBA What to bring to the meet
Meet entries for Tarheel States are posted on the web site and on the bulletin board in the lobby. Please make sure you know what you are swimming at the meet. EXCITING PARENT MEETING, TUESDAY, MARCH 25TH There will be an EXCITING MEETING for all parents of the Raleigh Swimming Association this Tuesday , March 25th at 6:30 PM. This meeting will take place in the lobby at Candler. Members of the Triangle Aquatic Center and the Raleigh Swimming Association’s board of directors will attend this meeting to update everyone and answer all questions on the great progress which has been made in making the Triangle Aquatic Center, home pool of RSA, a reality. Parents, please make every effort to attend this meeting, as it will be an important step in the bright future of our aquatic program here at RSA. CONGRATULATIONS ON A GREAT SECTIONAL MEET! Leading the way for the RSA 10 & Under girls was Torrey Bussey (Cary, NC). She placed first in both the 100 and 50 breaststroke events. Bussey also took 3rd in the 100 IM, 5th in the 50 Fly, 8th in the 100 free, and 4th in the 50 free. Ten-year old Brandon Bryan (Raleigh, NC) placed 7th overall in the 50 breaststroke. Also in the 10 & Under age group Ollie Clayton-Luce swam to best times in the 100 free and 50 fly. Ten-year-old girl Nina Mascia swam to personal bests in the 50 free and 100 backstroke. Neville Cross had a great meet taking over 7 seconds off the 100 IM, and swimming to a personal best. The 10 & Under girls 200 yd. freestyle relay of Torrey Bussey, Brianna Bryan, Nina Mascia, and Gabi Shishkoff placed 5th overall. Both Gabi Shishkoff and Brianna Bryan swam best times in their 50 free splits. The same relay took sixth in the 10 & Under girls 200 Medley RSA MID-SEASON BREAK Everyone is in need of a break from swimming so we will be going on our MID-Season break beginning this Saturday, March 29th. There will be no practice this Saturday, March 29th LOST FINS We have some lost fins. Dolphins Katie Mathis and Casey Carter have lost their fins. If anyone has picked up fins accidentally please let Coach Brian know. Make sure that you look to make sure they are RSA Team T-Shirts are IN, FINALLY! The RSA team t-shirts are here! If you have not gotten your please talk to Coach Brian. These are t-shirts that everyone on the team should get. They were included in the registration fee at the beginning of the season.
