GOODSTUFF MEET- NC Central University: May 17-18 The next meet for Dolphin swimmers BB & above is the RSA Goodstuff invitational. The scratch deadline for the meet is Friday, May 2nd. Please email coach Brian if you will not be attending. This would be a great meet for you to start off the Long Course Season. It would be afternoons only for these swimmers. I will have info posted on the bulletin board. Volunteers for Goodstuff Meet We still need volunteers to work the Goodstuff Swim Meet (May 16-18 @ NC Central in Durham) There is a sign-up sheet in the Candler Lobby Bubble Down / Candler Clean Up Bubble down is planned for Saturday, May 3 at 10:00. We will need a small number of parents to arrive at 8:00 to help in the preparation for Bubble Down. The rain out day is scheduled for May 4. Bubble Down will require the help of all available parents. This year we will be restricted from using the forklift to remove the bubble from the pool area so it will be more important than ever to have all parents participate. We expect to begin taking the bubble down at 10:00 and load it into the trailer around 11:00. The more help we have, the faster it will go. We will be having a clean-up of Candler pool Thursday, May 1, starting around 6:30 PM in preparation for Bubble Down. The more help we have the faster it will go and the faster Bubble Down will go on Saturday. Please come and join us if you can and bring rakes and outdoor brooms. For parents that will be at Candler for practice Thursday evening, we ask that you come in work clothes and be prepared to help. SWIM- A-THON 2003 The 2003 Swim-A-Thon will take place the week of May 12th. This will be held both at Candler and Pullen, depending on your practices. Please begin to start getting pledges from people. We need 100% participation from everyone to make this a great event. As you all know the we will be doing our swim-a-thon during the week of May 12th. This is our last week swimming at Candler. Here are some things to remember about the swim-a-thon

This past season has been one of the most remarkable in the long history of RSA. Please make every effort to come out and recognize the tremendous team effort put forth by our swimmers, coaches, parents and volunteers. Technique for the Week As all of you know we are now into the long course season. This means no 25's for you swimmers that are 8 & Under. Meters is longer than yards, and this means longer races for all swimmers in the summer. I like the fact that at most of these meets we can swim outside and that is great. You also may have noticed that we have started to do a lot more continuous swimming. I am trying to prepare all of you so that you are ready for some of those longer races. This is a great experience for you, and I think you will really see how it will pay off in the first long course meet. It is important for you all to attend practice so when you get in the race you will not be saying to yourself "where is the wall". While doing this longer swimming it is very important to continue to concentrate on your technique. That has been a focus of ours all year long.
