Another Great High School Meet For RSA Kids!

Another exciting weekend of racing by RSA swimmers at the North Carolina 4A State High School Championships. RSA swimmers took home three individual championships and had three swimmers lead their school's relay to first place.

Stephanie Glover had another great meet for Athens Drive High School. Stephanie won the girls 100 butterfly in an Automatic All -American Time, placed third in the 100 backstroke, and had two awesome relay swims. Steph split 25.51 on the butterfly leg to join RSA teammates Sarah Nowell and Kimmy Davis in leading Athens to a win in the 200 Medley Relay with an Automatic All-American Time. Then Steph split 51.79 to lead Athens to a second place finish with an All - American consideration in the 400 freestyle relay. Both splits were the fastest in the meet.

RSA had many other great swims. Casey Kott of Millbrook swam to victory in the 100 backstroke, and placed 2nd in the 100 freestyle, both swims being All American Consideration swims. Casey also had the fastest split in the backstroke leg of the medley relay in the meet by 1.5 seconds. Kenny Cross, also of Millbrook, won the 100 breastroke, swimming and All American Consideration time, placed fifth in the 50 freestyle, and swam the fastest 50 butterfly in the meet in the medley relays. Mark Nowell of Athens Drive, swam to second place finishes in the 50 freestyle and 100 breastroke, both swims being All American Consideration times, and swam the fastest 50 breastroke in the meet in the medley relays by over 1.6 seconds. Kimmy Davis has an awesome meet, placing fourth in the 100 free with a best time by all most a second.

Other RSA swimmers placing in the finals were Caroline Ackley, 4th in 200 free, 5th in 100 free, fastest 50 free relay split in the meet in the 200 freestyle relay, JD Dove 8th 100 breast, and Patrick Foote 6th 50 free, best time. those placing in the consolations were Holly Dettloff, Will Dove, and Patrick Foote.

RSA North swimmers who placed in the finals were Katy Bland 2nd 200 free, 3rd 100 free, Will Broughton 6th 500 free, Amanda Duncan 6th 100 fly, Nathan Farmer 6th 200 IM, 6th 100 breast, David Greene 6th 100 fly, 7th 200 IM, Grey Liston 4th 100 fly 5th 100 back, and Stephen Miltz 8th 50 free.

Overall in the public high school season, RSA swimmers had two swimmers with three automatic All-American swims, and five swimmers with eight consideration for All-American swims. Congratulations to all the swimmers and high school coaches on a great season!
