RSA's Safe Sport Recognition Renewal: We Need Your Help!
Dear RSA Families:
RSA is proud to participate in the Safe Sport Club Recognition program. USA Swimming recognizes RSA as an organization who demonstrates a commitment to an abuse-free, safe, healthy and positive environment for all of its members. This commitment is evidenced by our abuse prevention, anti-bullying, and photography policies, as well as our commitment to Athlete Protection Training and background screens for adult staff members.
RSA communicates Safe Sport compliance through:
- A Safe Sport tab on the RSA website, https://www.swimrsa.org/page/safesport , that includes the Minor Athlete Abuse Protection Policy, RSA’s policies, contact information for RSA, USA Swimming and the US Center for Safe Sport
- Lead coach emails
- News posts and accompanying emails
As RSA works to complete the requirements for our Safe Sport Club Recognition renewal application, we are asking families to attend Safe Sport webinars or to take an online class by February 22nd.
Safe Sport Webinars are being offered on the following dates:
Online classes are offered at your leisure. The classes are designed for specific groups:
- Parents’ Guide to Misconduct in Sports (parents and/or guardians)
- Safe Sport for Kids (ages 5-12)
- Safe Sport for Youth Athletes (ages 13-17)
- Safe Sport Abuse Protection for Adult Athletes (ages 18+)
Online classes are accessed through your USA Swimming account. Log into your account and
- Select the education tab
- Select the SSRP button
- Select the appropriate class
Completing these classes helps RSA secure our renewal while providing you and your children a better understanding of Safe Sport policies and resources.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding Safe Sport, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected].
I appreciate your participation in RSA’s recommitment to a safe, nurturing, environment for all. Have a great week.
